Hey,

I just saw this question. You could get a Macbook Pro to do it or pretty much any new PC laptop. Just check the specs of the laptop with what the program requires to run.

For the program, I’d suggest After Effects. In terms of getting a good track for the light sabers, maybe also get the MochaAE plugin for After Effects as well.

Hope this helps! Though you probably already made some decisions by now!

Hello, I have about five light saber fight scenes, each around 2 min. long. The problem is, I do not have access to a desktop. My question, is there a laptop that I can buy in which I can perform rotoscope work and render it out on???.

My second question is what would be the best set of programs to have on the laptop. I am thinking a movie making program and the best Aftereffects program that I can find.

Please advise.

If you have a stereo track that is centered on one system and L/R on another, the level will be 3db louder on the system where the stereo track is centered (effectively mono) than it is on the system where it’s panned L/R.

Stating the obvious, you should try to have all systems working on the same project use the same default audio pan setting. Otherwise you’ll get inconsistent levels and funkier things like audio clips inappropriately alternating between channels

Question is… will this affect the final mix if going from an all centered editor to a L/R editor.
When doing audio level work in an all centered setting, does the level “mix” change when going to L/R?
We’re experiencing some level issues from system to system that could be all centered created. Has anyone else experienced this?
Eventually it will go to protools but sending our assembled rough cuts have been where the problem lies.
